Situated in the north-east of England, Northumbria has two separate campuses. The largest, City Campus, is situated in the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne opposite the Civic Centre and has recently been extended with the building of a £100 million+ development at City Campus East. Coach Lane Campus is situated in a leafy suburb of the city, 3 miles from City Campus and linked by the University's free bus service.

For most postgraduate and undergraduate taught courses, applications can be made using the University Application Form for International Students. This form is available to download on the right hand side of this page. Return your application direct to the International Office or to one of the University's official overseas representatives.
Undergraduate Applications
Applications for most undergraduate courses should normally be made through UCAS, the UK's Universities and Colleges Admissions Service. For further information on this process, contact the Admissions office (contact details can be found on individual course description page).
Postgraduate Applications
For most postgraduate taught courses, applications can be made direct using the University's International Application Form. A copy of this form and the relevant notes for guidance can be downloaded from the right hand side of this page. Or alternatively a copy can be requested from the International Office.
Completed forms should be returned direct to the International Office or one of its offices overseas.
Research Applications

Terms and conditions of offer
Offers issued by the University are subject to its Terms and Conditions of Offer, a copy of which is available to download from this page.
In addition applicants are required to comply with the University’s Handbook of Student Regulations.
What to include
So that direct applications can be evaluated, please complete all sections of the form. If applying direct, the following should be enclosed:
* A photocopy of any English language qualifications
* A photocopy of academic certificates and details of results in each subject. If not in English, also include a certified translation
* A summary resume of any work experience and any other relevant activities
* Two references
* A photocopy of your passport (personal details page only)
* For art, design or architectural design and management courses only: at least 15 different samples of artwork (eg 35mm slides, CD ROM, colour prints)
When to apply
Each course has a different closing date for receipt of direct applications (details on enquiry). However some programmes are more popular than others and can fill up quickly. It is therefore recommended that applications are submitted as early as possible. Where to send your application

University Residences
We expect to be able to offer a place to most new non-local students who apply in good time for accommodation. Local students can apply but are unlikely to be offered a place in residences before mid September.
