It is in this context that Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, set up the National institute of Fashion Technology in 1986 as a Registered Society with the status of an Autonomous Body. The prime objective of this institute is to assist the apparel/fashion industry in meeting the industrial competitiveness on a global plane. Over the years NIFT has created a learning environment that encourages innovation, creativity and excellence.
