The Institute is a creation of Shri P. P. Chhabria, well-known industrialist and philanthropist and Padmashree Dr. Vijay Bhatkar, a distinguished scientist and an acclaimed IT leader of India who is credited with the creation of India's PARAM series of supercomputers and a recipient of Maharashtra's highest recognition ‘Maharashtra Bhushan’. The vision and leadership of these two distinguished gentlemen have shaped this Institute since its inception.

Campus Placement

At any IT and Business school, the placement logistics are a reflection of the technical and managerial talent honed by students during their  Advanced Postgraduate Programs in Information Technology and Management. At I²IT, placement is not an event; it is an on-going process. It begins with counseling early in the programme, continues with constant exposure to the industry and its dynamics by way of projects and assignments and culminates in the final placement of students.

Placement session begins with Pre-Placement Talks. The objective of this preliminary interaction is to enable students understand various company philosophies, ethics, expectations and operations, job profile and the package offered. Students are also briefed about the nature of orientation or training programmes that they would be expected to undergo if selected.

Campus placement and project internship processes at I²IT are conducted thrice a year, wherein organizations from all over India are invited to the campus. This is solely for project internships and final placements.

The Placement for the recent batch of students closed on a high note. The buoyant responses of the corporate exceeded the expectations of the students.

More than 200 companies participated in our placement and internship process and selected our students. Companies like CRISIL, HDFC Bank, Hero Honda, KPIT, Mind Tree Consulting, LG Electronics, Finolex, Intoto etc participated in the campus placement process.

I²IT encourages and nurtures independent thinking and the ability to explore unconventional avenues. As in the past, this year as well, there were students who chose the entrepreneurial path over the relatively easier corporate route to success.

International Students

Since 2002, I²IT has welcomed international students on its Pune campus. The first batch of international students was from Sudan  (18) who came on campus to study IT Program. Over the years we have had students from Asian countries like Korea, China, Thailand, Iran and Indonesia. From Europe, we have students from France and Russia.

Most international students choose I²IT as their graduate school for their term abroad because not only do they get quality education; but also a culture experience of living in India and studying with Indian students. This interaction becomes part of their valuable learning experience.

Some of our international students come back to us to continue their industrial internship / end-of-studies project as well.
