  • just wanted to clarify -Ram gives shyam a start of 100 m in a 1000m race . Does it mean when Shyam runs 1000m , Ram runs only 900.I didnt understand why the  book says when Ram runs 1000 shyam runs 900.

    Ram gives Shyam a start of 100 m in 1000 m race means that Ram has allowed Shyam to stand 100 m ahead of Ram .
     Clearly ram has to run 1000m and Shyam has to run 900 m to complete the race.
