The above figure represents the path travelled by chandu and saraswati

X is 10 km X' line also y is 40 km above X' line

CX = 3 0+ 20 + 40 = 90

CY = AY - AC = 40 - 10 = 30

In YCX

XY² = cy² + CX²

XY² = (90)² +(30)²
