Power of lens P = 1/f = (a?g - 1)(1/R1 - 1/R2)
Here
a?g is the refractive index of the lens with respect to air.
The refractive index for red light is less than that of violet light. So when we replace red light with violet light, the refractive index increases and hence the power of the lens also increases.
