1. Never assume all courses offered are of the same caliber, try to collect information about the course from different sources like

  1a    Course organizers/Institute themselves – see what they have to say but take it with a pinch of salt

  1b    People in the industry

  1c    People who have passed out earlier

  1d    Other competing institutes and see what they have to say about the other courses, they are sure to point out the shortcoming in others courses honestly

2. See the placement figures and get them verified from previous students

3. See if the institute has tie-ups with professionals outside.

4. Check if practical experience is being offered including an internship.

5. Find out if they can help you find a job once you have finished the course.
